This was not Elmore's best work.. The story of a melon grower how gets squeezed by the local hoods.. and the unlikely story that results.. as a hit man tracks him down to pay out a personal (and unrational) vandetta.
The story wasnt bad.. but not one of his best.. the characters develop slowly.. and some not very well.. mostly they run around following or escaping someone..
The main character reminds me of Stick a bit.. he thinks things through and does the right thing (not necessiarly what people expect).. The character is not as well developed as Stick..
Not a bad book.. but not one of his best..
