I enjoy Deighton, and he has quite a range of books... This was about 3 British con artist.. An older man, retired Army type, younger girl, his lover, and a young guy. Each chapter is written from a different persons view point. So we often see the same scene from different view points.. it is interesting to 'get inside' someones head.
Of course they all see the same thing differently, which is probably the point.
The story is a bit weak.. they run several cons.. but you are not really sure where they are going with it.. The ending is a bit of a surprise.. I, at least did not see it coming.. yet in the ending is different.. but it makes you smile :)
